Blender Ate My Homework.

The footage was shot about a month ago.

I'm not in the habit of storyboarding, so trying to tell a story out of the footage I did take was something akin to wrangling kittens.

Plus, my infant son doesn't feel the need to nap as much as he did.

Plus, other things were in need of my attention like various writing assigments

Add to this, a really neat (and at the same time) relatively basic visual effect has been giving me some trouble. And as of this post...still is.

At around the 3:30 mark, the words were supposed to flash on top of the scene, not instead of replace it. It took me hours to create and adjust, following the suggestions and teachings of what I was supposed to do.

After several misfires at rendering and hours of uploading, it still didn't work the way I wanted it to.

A second attempt, it made the whole video smoother, but the effect still didn't work.

Whether I'm missing something  in the whole layering with an effect strip (which was applied and still didn't work), or it's merely an issue of processing speed and the effect never stood a chance simply by virtue of the type of machine I'm using, the end result is a fail.

On top of everything, I chose to publish this particular project on Friday the 13th.

Perhaps I should rethink everything and just take the day off.

Whatever, you probably stopped reading this two sentences in.

Anyway. Video. About records.

Yay...records...

Thoughts On Unboxing

The downside of not having a plan for your YouTube channel is that you tend to post less frequently than that of someone who crank out "Let's Plays" on a daily basis.

This is a fact that veteran YouTubers and content providers will point out with almost as frequent regularity. In order for you to get followers, you need to generate content. And in order to generate content, you need have content.

And the carrot
And the stick
And the carrot
And the carrot

In order to publish video content, you need to be an expert in your field. Or at least be really good at video games...

Or pranking...
Or Reacting...

The upside to not having a plan for your channel, is that you can talk, perform, sell yourself as someone who isn't a professional, and it would still be okay.

I have nothing to talk about. I never really did.

Whenever I would find something to engage in with people, the blank stare would always cut the conversations short.

It's not that I don't want to talk to people, it's just that a lifetime's worth of indifference to me just made me not want to talk to anyone. Which means I turn into a hermit. Which means I'm in my own little world. Which is fine, but since I have the added benefit of being older, it would seem I would be well on my way to being the demented old dude.

Anyway, I made a video.

Yay.

It's an unboxing video. Unboxing is still a thing, right? Hasn't been drawing the ire of anyone lately? Anybody have unboxing videos pulled because reasons?

Sorry, in a bad mood.

I recently purchased Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman Omnibus Volume 1" after pining after it for years.

It's big, it's beautiful, and here's what it looks like.

Enjoy.
